Could It Have Happened to Me?

When I was with my ex-husband, I constantly woke up exhausted and anxious, even after what I believed was a full night's sleep. No matter how much I rested, I never felt refreshed.
I also struggled with recurring yeast infections and urinary tract infections. At the time, I never questioned why. I simply accepted that something must be wrong with me.
Now, after learning about other women who were unknowingly drugged and sexually assaulted by their intimate partners while they slept, I can't help but wonder...
Could that have happened to me?
Could I be one of them?
I may never know the answer. But asking these questions has forced me to look back at my experiences through a different lens.
Today, those unanswered questions haunt my mind. I may never know the truth, and perhaps that is one of the hardest parts of all. But I refuse to let the uncertainty silence me any longer.
